This is my weekly series that will keep you up to date on what’s new at Costco, what deals are ending soon and other good things.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and that your New Year is off to a great start. Our family had a nice, quiet Christmas this year and kept the gifts to a minimum. I got my husband the Susquehanna Monogrammed Barware Collection 16-ounce Personalized Beer Mug 4-count ($36.99 + free shipping) from costco.com. I placed the order on December 16, 2015 and was crossing my fingers that it would arrive by Christmas, but alas, it didn’t arrive until this week. It was worth the wait, though. The glasses are heavy-duty and stay nicely chilled out of the freezer. What a great way to enjoy all those craft beers from Costco. Other monogrammed barware includes Pilsner, Hiball, and Double Old Fashioned glasses. Limited time only. One caveat is that customized items are not refundable.

What’s new at Costco? It’s furniture month and there are a lot of great new pieces this season. I’m not in the market for a new desk but if I were, my favorite is the Universal Furniture Broadmoore Writing Desk. It’s stylish and practical with a two-outlet power strip flush-mounted on the back. I’ll continue with the furniture posts over the next week so stay tuned. For those of you who are looking to save a bit of money, check out your local University surplus stores for some great values. I was able to snag a huge and heavy solid wood executive desk from the University of Washington Surplus Store for just $40 last year.
